Love Your Pet Day is February 20th! While our feline pals deserve to feel loved every day, this is a great reminder that Fluffy does need to feel loved to truly thrive. However, your furball doesn’t need flowers or candies to feel loved. Actually, it may not take much at all to get that little motor going. A local Kerrville, TX vet lists some ‘purrfect’ ways to celebrate below.
Playtime
Kitties are very playful, which is great for us, as they are pretty adorable to watch when they are feeling frisky. Spend a few minutes holding a laser pointer or wand toy for Fluffy!
Kitty Comfort Spots
Cats all have their own unique personalities. However, one thing they all have in common is a love of comfy napping spots. Get Fluffy a new bed, or make her a window seat, where she can watch birds and squirrels and daydream about being a ferocious hunter.
Toys
Speaking of ferocious hunters, make sure that Fluffy has plenty of toys to unleash her inner lioness on. Cats all have their own unique tastes here, so offer your furry pal a variety.
Grooming
Kitties are very good about caring for their fur. However, that doesn’t mean they can’t use a little help here and there. Brushing your feline buddy will remove dead hair from her coat. It’s also a great way to make her feel loved!
Treats
A yummy treat will also get that motor going. Just stick with things that you know are safe. A little bit of plain, cooked meat, fish, or poultry should be fine, as long as you’ve removed the skin, bones, and fat.
Boxes
Fluffy certainly loves being pampered, but that doesn’t necessarily mean she has expensive taste. Offer your furry buddy a cardboard box or a plain paper bag. There’s a pretty good chance that your feline overlord will be very pleased!
Photos
Love Your Pet Day is a very important occasion, but it may not be on everyone’s radar. Share some cute pics of Fluffy, and help spread the word!
Love
Honestly, the best way to make Fluffy feel loved is to just pay attention to her. If Fluffy isn’t a lapcat, just pet her or even talk to her.
