Working at Compassionate Care Veterinary Hospital includes loving on and providing a safe, happy & efficient environment for clients and their fur-babies. At CCVH, we strive to ensure that our clients are welcomed into a positive atmosphere and feel good knowing that their babies are being well taken care of.
Do you love working with animals, being part of a team, and enjoy making a positive impact? We are looking to hire an experienced veterinary technician (grooming experience is a huge plus!).
Our veterinary technicians are expected to interact with dogs and cats of different sizes and breeds. They assist with baths and comb outs; cleaning and disinfecting rooms; picking up and/or scooping kennels or play areas; feeding, watering, and administering medications; and observing playtimes.
Some of the veterinary technician responsibilities include assisting with surgeries, administering medications, caring for hospitalized animals, performing dental cleanings, organizing laboratory samples, and educating clients.
All of our team members are expected to work at a fast pace, in an organized manner and are responsible for greeting and interacting with clients to make sure they feel welcomed and confident in bringing their fur-babies to CCVH.
Must be able to work alternating weekends and holidays.
Starting pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, professionalism, experience, and reference feedback.
Job Type: Full-time
The Client Service Representative (CSR) is the first point of contact for our clients and plays a key role in ensuring an excellent client experience. This role is responsible for greeting clients, managing appointments, answering phones and hospital emails, and supporting the overall flow of the hospital. The CSR also assists with the care of boarding patients during scheduled weekend and holiday rotations in the kennel and may need to assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care.
Despite being focused on the client experience, this position requires flexibility in helping in all areas of the hospital, when needed. Sharing of weekend and holiday shifts is required to ensure boarding patient care.
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our small animal hospital team. This role is a hybrid position combining direct patient care, kennel/boarding responsibilities, and client service support. The ideal candidate is passionate about animal health and welfare, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to providing an exceptional client experience from start to finish.
This position requires flexibility in working in all areas of the hospital—exam rooms, treatment areas, kennel/boarding, and front desk. Sharing of weekend and holiday shifts is required to ensure boarding patient care.

Verified Very comfortable with Dr Metzger and his staff. My dog hates car rides do she was stressed when we got there. He walked in with a cap on. She doesn't trust caps so I told him she didn't like tgem and he took it off! He did everything possible to make her comfortable during our visit. I am so pleased that they go out of their way to take the stress away from the pets first visit.Posted on Diane N.Verified Great first impression. I made an appointment for a meet and greet to establish my dog as a patient. The entire staff I met that morning were friendly and kind. Dr Metzger examined my dog, took his history, and asked questions about his past problems (there are many). They have a Veterinarian that performs acupuncture (impressive). The office is clean. They sell the prescription dog food on premises. I am thankful to have found a caring Veterinarian.Posted on P B.Verified The team at Compassionate are at the top of the Veterinary services you can get in Fredericksburg Texas. Dr Metzer & Dr Fritz are knowledgeable, kind, and compassionate towards your fur friends. Boarding services available. My dog Oskar has had a few stays with Compassionate Care. I would highly recommend using Compassionate Care Veterinary for your animals needs.Posted on Dianne M.Verified just as the name implies. awesome care, kind and loving staff. My dog visits twice a week for palatine care which was not offered elsewhere.Posted on Sandra M.Verified We are very pleased with Compassionate Care Veterinary Hospital. Can't say enough good things about Dr. Metzger. He is knowledgeable, thorough, thoughtful and takes the time to explain sometimes complicated problems. We have had many pets over the years, and many veterinarians taking care of them. He is definitely among the best! Also, the staff is friendly and helpful and all seem to truly enjoy their work.Posted on Diana C.Verified Dr. Trish Brannan has been our Veterinarian exclusively for 17 years. Always reliably professional, available and responsive, along with providing exceptional care for her patients. We really appreciate knowing she is always thorough and very willing to take the time to discuss our concerns and answer any questions we might have. Very much a compassionate Veterinarian we hope to have for another 17 years. Mr. & Mrs. F. J. FogartyPosted on Sharon R.Verified A friend recommended Compassionate care for my German Shepherd pup, they were so caring and made his first vet visit as quick as possible while allowing me to be with him in the outdoor open treatment area. My pup was given his shot, medicine, weighed and nails clipped without hurting him! Professional staff who made me feel confident that my pup is in good hands for the future!Posted on Bri S.Verified I have been taking my new dog to see Dr. John and couldn't be happier. I left my other vet because they didn't call me back on two occasions when my very large dog was suffering from a stroke. I was recommend to Dr. John by a friend and have been more than thrilled with his level of expertise and care. They all work together as a team - and Linda the groomer is terrific.Posted on Annette B.Verified Took great care of my dogs last weekend! Friendly staff and clean facility. Very professional. Will definitely be taking my dogs back here, as well as recommending this business.Posted on Kimberly B.
