What are your hospital hours?

Our regular hospital hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with special Sunday pick-up and drop-off times.

How do I become a client of Compassionate Care Veterinary Hospital?

You can become a client by contacting us and requesting an appointment. Please fill out our Request an Appointment form to get started. The form asks for basic information, such as your pet’s information and your preferred appointment time. Submitting the form does not automatically schedule a visit. A staff member will contact you to confirm your pet’s appointment.

Are you accepting new clients?

Yes, we are currently accepting new clients. In fact, we are offering a $1 nose-to-tail pet exam as a new-client special. To be eligible, mention the offer when scheduling and again at check-in.

What types of animals do you treat?

We provide veterinary care for small household pets as well as selected large animals and livestock. (Please note: we do not see horses.) We provide large-animal services on a case-by-case basis, geared toward preventive and wellness care, herd health, and general veterinary care. We will make house calls to farms and ranches with appropriate facilities. We do not provide emergency services for large animals.

What signs mean my pet needs veterinary care immediately?

Sudden or severe changes in your pet’s health may reflect a need for urgent veterinary attention. If you aren’t sure if your pet needs emergency care or can wait for a routine appointment, call us for professional guidance. That said, you should seek immediate veterinary care if your pet shows symptoms of serious health issues or injuries, such as:

• Collapse, fainting, or inability to stand
• Seizures or severe disorientation
• Uncontrolled bleeding or a serious wound
• Respiratory distress
• Suspected poisoning or ingestion of a harmful substance
• A vehicle accident, serious fall, bite, or other traumatic injury
• Severe or persistent pain
• Repeated vomiting or diarrhea accompanied by weakness
• A swollen, distended, or painful abdomen

• Sudden inability to walk or major loss of coordination

We provide a broad range of Veterinary Services for companion animals and selected large-animal patients. Our services include Wellness & Vaccinations, Allergies & Dermatology, Nutrition & Weight Management, Diagnostics, Dentistry, general, oral, orthopedic, and ophthalmic surgery, Acupuncture, Euthanasia, House Calls, Boarding, Microchipping, Large Animals, and the Torigen Autologous Cancer Vaccine. We also provide cardiology and hospice services.

How can house calls help my pet?

Our House Calls bring veterinary care to your home when traveling to our hospital is difficult or stressful. House calls can also be convenient for families with multiple pets because we can see several animals during one visit. We provide routine wellness care, physical examinations, vaccinations, and sick calls. We can handle certain diagnostic tests via house calls, including blood work and urinalysis, which we can bring back to our in-house laboratory. However, house calls are not right for every pet.

What diagnostic services are available for my pet?

We provide Veterinary Diagnostics through an on-site laboratory as well as digital radiology and ultrasound imaging. Our laboratory can perform a wide variety of tests, often producing results within minutes, while X-rays and ultrasound allow us to evaluate bones, internal organs, injuries, and other health concerns. Our veterinarians can review diagnostic images in real time or share them electronically with specialists when needed. We may also bring in ultrasonographers for consultations as needed.

What types of surgery do you perform?

We perform general, oral, orthopedic, and ophthalmic surgery for appropriate patients. We can also bring surgical specialists to our hospital through our relationship with Texas Specialty Veterinary Services, providing access to specialty orthopedic and soft-tissue procedures without requiring every patient to travel elsewhere.

How can acupuncture help my pet?

Veterinary Acupuncture may help manage pain and improve comfort for pets with conditions such as arthritis, back pain, joint problems, sprains and strains, hip dysplasia, respiratory problems, digestive issues, neurological conditions, and senior-pet health concerns. We determine the recommended number of treatments based on your pet’s condition, severity, and individual response. Acupuncture can be an option for pets whose families want additional ways to manage pain and promote comfort.

What dental care do you provide for pets?

Our Veterinary Dentistry services include both routine preventive dental care and advanced treatment for existing oral conditions. We also provide dental cleanings and procedures and can show you how to maintain your pet’s oral health at home.

Dental problems can cause bad breath, excessive drooling, difficulty eating, pawing at the mouth, loose or damaged teeth, and red, swollen, or bleeding gums. Over time, they can lead to pain and cause issues with your pet’s ability to chew and eat, which in turn will affect his health and digestion.

Yes, we provide Allergies & Dermatology and Nutrition & Weight Management services, along with behavioral consultations. Our veterinarians may use examinations, blood work, skin scrapings, or biopsies to investigate skin problems. At the same time, nutrition consultations can address your pet’s individual dietary requirements, ideal weight, and changing needs throughout life. We can also evaluate behavioral concerns as part of your pet’s overall health care.

Do you provide large-animal veterinary care?

Yes, we provide case-by-case herd health and preventive veterinary care for domestic farm animals and livestock. These services are limited to farms and ranches with appropriate facilities. We currently do not provide sick-animal or emergency services for large animals.

Our Wellness & Vaccinations services focus on routine examinations, vaccinations, parasite control, nutrition and weight management, and preventive health screening when recommended. We examine your pet from nose to tail and develop preventive recommendations based on their age, lifestyle, health, and individual needs. Regular wellness visits also help us identify potential health concerns earlier.

Do you offer boarding and grooming?

Yes, we provide Boarding And Grooming services for pets. Our boarding accommodations include individual housing, temperature-controlled areas, daily exercise, fresh water, clean bedding, sanitary enclosures, and separate areas for dogs and cats; we can also administer medication or provide special care when needed. Our grooming services also help pets stay clean, comfortable, and well cared for.
