Dr. Susan Fritz
Dr. Susan Fritz is the owner and full-time veterinarian at Compassionate Care Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Fritz was raised on a cattle and sheep ranch in Santa Anna, Texas. Lambing and calving season was always her favorite time of year. She made it her personal job to save everything that was born. This love of animals is why Dr. Fritz decided to become a veterinarian. Dr. Fritz received her B.S. Animal Science in 1978, B.S. Veterinary Science in 1980 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1981 from Texas A&M University.
Dr. Fritz began her career at Leifeste Animal Hospital and worked there from 1981-1983. Dr. Fritz did relief work in Fredericksburg, Kerrville, Comfort and Boerne from 1983-1987. Dr. Fritz saw the need for a small animal hospital in Fredericksburg and established Compassionate Care Veterinary Hospital in 1987.
Dr. David Kesler
Dr. David Kesler origianally from Lake Jackson graduated with the dream of becoming a Veterinarian. He accomplised his goal and graduated from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1975. Dr. Kesler owned Lake Jackson Veterinary Clinic from 1975-2000. Dr. Kesler sold his practice to Veterinary Centers of America and worked for them for four years. He joined Compassionate Care in March 2005.
Dr. Kesler is married to Linda a retired teacher. He has two grown children Ryan and Kent and two grand children Mason and Mallory. Dr. Kesler is actively involved in Fredericksburg Rotary Club, Doss VFD, Doss Commmunity Club, Doss Area Wildlife Management Association - President and the Hilda United Methodist Church.
Dr. Trish Brannan
Dr. Trish Brannan grew up in Bowie Texas. After graduating in 1981 she attended Texas Tech University from 1981 to 1984. She graduated from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary medicine in 1988.
Dr. Brannan's career began with a surgical internship at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, KY. Dr. Brannan moved on to Escondida, CA were she worked at Grossmont Animal Hospital and did relief work at San Diego Emergency Clinic from 1989 to 1992. Dr. Brannan had the urge to return to Texas and she went to work at a Banfield Veterinary Hospital in Fort Worth and later transferred to San Antonio. Dr. Brannan joined the Compassionate Care veterinary team in 1994. In 1998 she took a few years off and to spend time with her children. She returned to Compassionate Care in 2003.
Dr. Brannan married Ross Brannan in 1995. They have three children: Wyatt, Garrett, and Kacie. Dr. Brannan and her husband run RBR Angus Ranch. The family enjoys football, basketball, baseball, soccer, skiing, surfing, softball, hunting, fishing, riding horses, and ranching activities. Dr. Brannan and Ross are active in coaching sports and working with the youth in the area. Dr. Brannan is actively involved in PYSA Board - Purchasing Director, FES Fall Festival Fundraiser - Co Chairman, and FES PTO - vice president. They also enjoy traveling to national parks and to the beach.
